OBD-II Module Fuel Efficiency Chip
The Pierce Acoustics module connects directly to a vehicle's standard OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics II) diagnostic port—commonly located under the dashboard on the driver's side—interfacing directly with the vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU).
The OBD-II interface module optimizes fuel consumption through several integrated functions:
ECU Parameter Optimization & Map Remapping: The device communicates via the vehicle's CAN bus to adjust real-time engine maps, fine-tuning air-to-fuel ratios (AFR), ignition timing, and fuel injection duration to maximize combustion efficiency under typical cruising and moderate loads.
Throttle Curve Smoothing: By dampening erratic throttle inputs and linearizing pedal response, the module prevents aggressive fuel dumping during transient acceleration.
Closed-Loop Feedback Integration: It monitors live telemetry—such as mass air flow (MAF), manifold absolute pressure (MAP), engine RPM, and oxygen sensor readings—adapting signal calibrations dynamically to keep combustion within the most efficient stoichiometric window.
Hydrogen/Auxiliary Fuel Support Interface: In supplemental efficiency setups (such as auxiliary HHO or secondary injection systems), the OBD-II module manages sensor offsets (primarily pre-cat and post-cat $O_2$ / wideband lambda and MAF sensors) to prevent the ECU from over-enriching the mixture when detecting supplemental hydrogen or altered exhaust chemistry.
Typical Use & Setup
Plug-and-Play Installation: Plugs straight into the standard 16-pin OBD-II receptacle with no wire splicing required.
Real-Time Status Indication: Integrated LED indicators communicate power status, bus synchronization, and active data transmission.
